Promo Codes
Promo codes are a powerful tool for driving sales and rewarding customers. Frontend allows you to create flexible discount codes that customers can apply during checkout to receive price reductions on your products.
Creating Promo Codes
Section titled “Creating Promo Codes”When creating a promo code, you can configure several key settings:
Discount Type
Section titled “Discount Type”Promo codes support two types of discounts:
- Absolute Dollar Amount: Fixed amount off the purchase (e.g., $10 off)
- Percentage Off: Percentage discount applied to the total (e.g., 25% off)
Choose the discount type that best fits your promotional strategy and pricing structure.
Code Configuration
Section titled “Code Configuration”- Code Name: The text customers enter at checkout (e.g., “WELCOME25” or “SUMMER2024”)
- Discount Value: The amount or percentage to discount
- Description (optional): Internal notes about the promotion’s purpose
Choose memorable, easy-to-type codes that relate to your promotion or brand.
Promo Code Restrictions
Section titled “Promo Code Restrictions”You can limit promo code usage in multiple ways to control your promotional campaigns:
Date Restrictions
Section titled “Date Restrictions”Limit when a promo code can be used:
- Start Date: When the promo code becomes valid
- End Date: When the promo code expires
- No Date Limit: Promo code remains valid indefinitely until manually deactivated
This is perfect for seasonal sales, limited-time offers, or launch promotions.
Redemption Limits
Section titled “Redemption Limits”Control how many times a promo code can be used:
- Maximum Redemptions: Set a specific number of times the code can be used
- Unlimited Redemptions: No limit on usage count
Redemption limits help you:
- Create exclusive offers for first customers
- Control the cost of promotional campaigns
- Generate urgency with limited availability
Multiple Restrictions
Section titled “Multiple Restrictions”You can combine date restrictions and redemption limits:
- A promo code valid from December 1-31 with maximum 100 redemptions
- A launch code valid for the first 50 customers only
- An evergreen code with no date or redemption limits
Managing Promo Codes
Section titled “Managing Promo Codes”Activating and Deactivating
Section titled “Activating and Deactivating”Promo codes can be toggled on or off at any time:
- Active: The code is available for customers to use at checkout
- Inactive: The code cannot be used, even if redemptions remain or dates are valid
This gives you flexibility to:
- Pause promotions temporarily without deleting the code
- Reactivate past promotions for special occasions
- Quickly disable codes that are being abused
- Test codes before making them public
Viewing Usage
Section titled “Viewing Usage”Track how your promo codes are performing:
- See how many times each code has been redeemed
- Monitor redemptions against your set limits
- Identify which promotions drive the most sales
Editing Promo Codes
Section titled “Editing Promo Codes”Update promo code settings as needed:
- Extend or shorten date ranges
- Increase redemption limits for successful promotions
- Modify discount amounts
- Activate or deactivate codes
Promo Code Strategies
