Products

Once Stripe is enabled for your account, you can create and manage products for your e-commerce storefront. Frontend supports both single-purchase digital products and subscription-based offerings.

To create a product, you’ll need to provide the following information:

  • Name: The title of your product as it appears to customers
  • Description: Detailed information about what the product includes and its benefits
  • Price: The cost of the product in your chosen currency
  • Currency: Choose from USD, EUR, CAD, or AUD
  • Images: Upload up to 8 images to showcase your product

Products can be configured as either:

  • Single Purchase: One-time payment for the product
  • Monthly Subscription: Recurring monthly payments for ongoing access

When creating a subscription product, customers will be automatically billed each month until they cancel.

Each product supports up to 8 images to help showcase what you’re offering:

  • Upload high-quality images that represent your product
  • Add multiple images to show different aspects or features
  • Images appear in your storefront’s product listings and detail pages
  • The first image serves as the primary product image

Products have two visibility states:

  • Active: The product is visible and available for purchase on your website
  • Inactive: The product is hidden from your storefront and unavailable for purchase

Only active products will appear on your website. This allows you to:

  • Prepare products before launching them
  • Temporarily disable products without deleting them
  • Manage seasonal or limited-time offerings
  • Test products before making them public

Frontend’s product system is designed for digital products and services:

  • Digital Downloads: E-books, software, templates, graphics, music, or videos
  • Online Courses: Educational content with subscription or one-time access
  • Memberships: Access to exclusive content, communities, or resources
  • Services: Consulting sessions, coaching packages, or professional services
  • SaaS Access: Subscription-based access to web applications
  • Content Subscriptions: Monthly access to premium articles, newsletters, or media

When creating products, consider these recommendations:

  • Write clear, compelling descriptions that explain the value customers will receive
  • Use high-quality images that accurately represent your offering
  • Set competitive pricing based on the value provided
  • Clearly indicate whether a product is a subscription or one-time purchase
  • Keep inactive products organized for future use
  • Test the checkout flow with test payments before launching

Your product catalog forms the foundation of your e-commerce experience, so take time to present your offerings in the best possible light.
